On April 22, 2026, at the age of 85, Bob passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Joyce; his sons Kevin (Cindy), Michael (Pam), and Sean (Vanessa); and his grandchildren Bret (Emily, and great-grandson, Wallace), Lisa, Siobhan, and Ronan, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings Bill, Don, and Lois (Gord), Joyce's family in Prince Edward Island, and many other extended family and friends.
Bob dedicated 38 years of service with the Department of National Defence in the Air Force.
During his time with the R.C.A.F., he served as a Radio Navigator, Pilot, and Administrator in postings across Canada and in Germany. Bob retired in 1997 as the Commanding Officer of Air Command Headquarters.
Following his retirement, Bob remained active in his community volunteering with Charleswood Senior Centre, the Hubbell Awards Committee, the Royal Canadian Legion, and St. Charles Headingley United Church, and other community organizations.
Bob's hobbies included playing baseball, running, cycling, and cross-country skiing at Beaudry Park.
He was also a devoted fan of Winnipeg sports teams, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 100 (Charleswood), 6003 Roblin Blvd, Winnipeg on July 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
